JSW Energy reported a robust 42% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹743 crore in the first quarter of FY26, driven by strong contributions from recent acquisitions and renewable capacity expansions. This is a sharp jump from ₹522 crore in Q1 FY25.

The company’s total revenue for the June 2025 quarter soared by 78% YoY, touching ₹5,411 crore compared to ₹3,043 crore a year ago. The growth was fueled by organic capacity additions and revenue contributions from the recently acquired Mahanadi thermal plant and O2 Power renewable assets.

Key Operational Highlights:

  • EBITDA Boost: Mahanadi plant contributed ₹867 crore to EBITDA, while O2 Power (consolidated from April 9, 2025) added ₹219 crore.

  • Electricity Generation: Net power generation jumped 71% YoY to 13.5 billion units (BUs), compared to 7.8 BUs last year.

    • Renewable energy generation rose 54% YoY to 5.0 BUs.

    • Thermal energy generation increased 83% YoY to 8.5 BUs.

  • Short-Term Volumes: Saw a 58% increase YoY to 1.7 BUs due to greater reliance on domestic coal-based capacity.

    • Short-term thermal sales rose 63% to 1,630 million units (MUs), led by Utkal and Mahanadi plants.

JSW Energy's strategic acquisitions and renewable expansion are positioning the company for sustained long-term growth, aligning with India’s green energy goals while boosting financial performance.
